Tree Notes is a note organizer that offers a friendly environment where you can store and organize your ideas, observations, thoughts, and all sorts of data. A compact application packed with numerous options to give your notes a personal touch.
The app uses a tree-like system to arrange notes giving you the chance of creating as many notes and subnotes as you need. Its interface is divided into two panels; one is for organizing notes, and the other is for showing the content of the note selected, facilitating navigation and note search.
The toolbar under the main menu comprises several functions; you can add (or delete) notes and subnotes, edit the note name, change the icon, use the search function to look for certain words in your notes, etc. It is also possible to print or export notes into TXT, RTF, and HTML. These and some additional features are available if you right click on a note in the tree.
Multiple options are offered when it comes to writing notes too. To start with, the application supports auto-save, which means you don't need to worry about losing important notes as everything is automatically saved as you're typing. All the basic options to format text are present as well, you can apply bold, underline, or italics, as well as highlight text with different colors, create bulleted lists, align text, etc. My favorite feature is the possibility of adding attachments to notes. These can be URLs, email addresses, shortcuts to applications and folders in your PC, and even files (file size will impact on the app's performance). Attachments are not actually 'embedded' into a note, but they get added to an extra panel that appears to the right of the screen.
Notes are saved into a database with the extension .tnn; you can create new databases and also backup the existing ones. Also, you can protect your database with a password in case you prefer to keep your notes private.
All in all, a useful and flexible app that will help you organize the information and notes you use everyday. If you want to try it, you can download a full-featured trial that can be used for 30 days.
